Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder. It’s a simple phrase, but is not just about your personal opinion. It’s also true of life, of being a seeker. The journey you take is the most important, this will have the greatest impact on your experience. How you interpret, how you feel, what you know.
This is also the freedom from searching. The first time I heard the phrase being a seeker on the path, it made me think of the search for God. The belief we can have in religion, and the power that spiritual leaders have over us. But this is far from actual truth. Being a Seeker on the path is this Eternal search that we all have. This search for feeling good. I used to be addicted to this idea. Once I get that better job I’ll be happy. Once I move to America, I’ll have the life I want. Once I lose this weight, and am pretty I’ll be happy.
And none of that was ever true, because the minute any of those items were within my grasp, I was onto the next search to bring an experience of happiness. And this is the Eternal Search.
But the freedom you can have from this is when you know your own power as the Beholder of True Beauty. And to be truly free from the Search, knowing your True Nature, you will know the meaning of life. The power of external materialist things, or how you look, or what you do, where you are in life, loses all its power over you. And that is true, exceptional beautiful freedom. Freedom from creating Suffering in your life from the experience you create of ‘Not having’.
